What an INCREDIBLE match it was today between Livermore SuperMonks and the Cougars!
The NCCA Livermore Cricket Ground was the stage for a thrilling encounter as the Livermore SuperMonks took on the Cougars. The SuperMonks won the toss and decided to bat first on a hot and warm day.
And what a start it was! Satmeet and Krithik formed a 120-run partnership, with Krithik making his debut for the SuperMonks. Satmeet, aka Punjab ka puttar, Punjab ka sher, lived up to his nickname as he scored 68 runs in 45 balls with 6 boundaries and three 6’s. The debutant Krithik was also in the form of his life, scoring 62 runs in 39 balls with 4 boundaries and two 6’s. This player has been on fire in his last three games, scoring 108, 150*, and 54*.
Rathod, who was also making his debut today, added quick runs with 17 off just 3 boundaries.
Despite some underwhelming performances from the rest of the team, the SuperMonks still managed to put up a mammoth 176/10 in just 19.3 overs.
The Cougars started well with a couple of boundaries, but their opening batsmen were in a state of frustration and couldn’t control their anger, causing a bit of a nuisance in the middle. However, this only fueled the SuperMonks’ fire, with Sai bowling exceptionally well and taking 3 wickets, Anand taking an impressive 4, and Nakul taking 1. In the end, the Cougars were only able to score 147/10 in 18.5 overs, giving the SuperMonks a well-deserved win.
The hero of the day was undoubtedly Satmeet, who played brilliantly and deserves all the praise. Krithik, Sai, and Anand also deserve a round of applause for their fantastic performances.
This win is a great accomplishment for the Livermore SuperMonks and the Livermore Valley Cricket Club as a whole, who now have two wins from both the teams (Monks and SuperMonks). It was the perfect weekend for cricket lovers and fans of the Livermore Valley Cricket Club.
